My pleasure is an exhibition of huge oil paintings, with canvases measuring three and a half by two metres. They are Joana Villaverde’s first works without any figurative or iconographic expression. It is as if they were just backgrounds, unpopulated, with neither eye nor gaze, animal or human. The work is a portrait of the privilege of being able to do things in freedom.
