Guided tour and Listening session “Haven”

As part of the public programme of the exhibition Haven, at Galeria da Boavista, the Municipal Galleries present a guided tour with artist James Newitt and curator Mattia Tosti, followed by a listening session with composer João Polido.

In the listening session, James Newitt and João Polido will speak on the collaborative creative process of developing the sonic backbone for Newitt’s film “Haven” (2023), sharing the initial points of reference and ideas for what things may sound like to the construction of the digital acoustic spaces present in the film. The session uncovers the audio strata of “Haven” by listening to layers of the sound material and approaches to audio processing for effect of worldbuilding.
