What does it mean to decolonize, in light of the discussions on the wounds historically inflicted by the process of establishing colonialism as the ordering force of the world? What does it mean to decolonize, when the oppression of necropolitics is all around us and our ghosts ever rest in light of the reproduction of death as the life expectancy of entire communities? What does decolonization mean, when our memories are systematically erased as a way to ensure that our futures never arrive? Today’s dialogue starts from these and other issues, connecting the questions raised by the works included in the archive with the current struggles for decolonial justice and the abolition of racist structures in Portugal and in the world.
