“Much of textile production is geared towards the confection of garments and the fashion industry and thus towards clothes that are in physical contact with us, almost every moment of our everyday. While we cover our bodies in textiles to keep warm, clothes also serve to portray a certain image towards others, like a costume or a camouflage, not so differently from when they’re worn on stage or on carnival.”
