“Developing a body of work with strong affinities to oral and cultivation traditions, sculptural narration and the materiality of chance, the invited artists explore the alternating morphogenetic states of natural elements and their multidimensional attributes, as well as the intimacy of their uncertainty, ephemerality and turbulence. Through gestures and installations, they have explored how matter can open to its flux and vortical indeterminacy, giving birth to new shapes. As such, they have germinated aesthetic grammars that merged with each other.”
-Margarida Mendes
“There is something alluring about the fantastical idea that nothing that has ever happened, nothing that has ever existed, in our world, is lost to time. Time storages everything, for some unspecified time when it can be accessed again.”
-Esther Leslie
“During this moment of the modern era, with effects of globalization, ecological warfare and tyranny eliminating historically grown landscapes and communities, the sculptural projects presented in this exhibition are radically rooted in the present and serve as a testimony of their makers engagement with their local sites and famil(y)iar surroundings.”
-Tobi Maier
