This exhibition brings together a group of small-scale works by Fernando Conduto, never or rarely exhibited before. These works reflect the methodology of the artist’s creative process and include a newly commissioned sculpture executed on purpose for the exhibition, which will be installed subsequently in the city of Lisbon.
In addition, the exhibition includes a survey of Conduto’s work installed in different regions of the country: the urban bustle of Lisbon, the tranquillity of the dunes of Tróia and the silence of the mountains in Serra da Estrela are mirrored in photographs and a video piece. Fernando Conduto is the author of the first major abstract sculpture installed the city’s public space, which is dating from 1968 and has been installed on Rua Castilho, next to the Castil building.
