Galerias Municipais de Lisboa invite for the book launch “Falso Sol, Falsos Olhos”, by Élisa Pône, and the concert by Fallon Mayanja at Damas (R. da Voz do Operário 60, 1170-039 – Lisboa)
On the occasion of the launch Fallon Mayanja will perform the concert “The Frozen Lakes of Elle”
This event has been organized to celebrate the launch of the exhibition catalogue for “Fake Sun, Fake Eyes”, a solo exhibition by Élisa Pône, which was on view at Galeria Quadrum between 21st November 2020 and 13th January 2021 (curated by Estelle Nabeyrat). This bilingual edition (Portuguese and French) features an introduction by Tobi Maier, texts by Estelle Nabeyrat and Rita Barreira as well as an insert with a concrete poetry intervention by António Contador. Design is by ATLAS Projectos.
Élisa Pône was born in 1979 and lives and works in Lisbon. Recent exhibitions and performances include: “For the next wave that the next one erases”, BBB Centre d’Art Toulouse, 2021, “Falso Sol, Falsos Olhos”, Galerias Municipais – Galeria Quadrum, Lisbon (2020), “Cosmo/Política #6”, Neo-realism Museum, Vila Franca de Xira (2020) ; “La mesure du monde “, MRAC Sérignan (2019) and upcoming ARDER-HAVIR with Julien Perez at Centre d’Art Micro-Onde Vélizy.
Fallon Mayanja is an artist and performer whose work deals with sound and media. Fallon Mayanja explores repetition and audio reactive devices using analogue synthesizers and programming software. The works also question the place of voice, the role of silence through the creation of archive samples all leading to the creation of new architectures through an exploration of amplified sounds, unfolding in electronic interstices.
